Prior information notice
The European Spallation Source ERIC (called ESS), is a facility that services scientific community by providing neutrons for various experimental purposes. The facility requires various shielding to cater for a safe working environment.
The Bunker’s Temporary Beamstops project carries the task of providing a standardised common design solution of an auxiliary shielding for instruments that will not have fully installed beamline for Beam on Target (BOT). The purpose of a beamstops is to reduce radiation level to safe levels in the experimental halls (D01 and D03 buildings) and guide hall (E02 building) to thus ensure a safe working environment.
The scope of work of the service and supply of the Bunker’s Temporary Beamstops is to perform a production design, manufacturing, and delivery of concrete blocks, as per project’s schedule, see Table 1.
Three scenarios with various quantity of blocks wanted are presented in this SoW. ESS reserves the right to modify quantity of needed blocks, what will be revaluated as per project’s schedule at a later stage.
